Les jazzmen américains en Europe (Italie) dans les années 1960. We are looking forward to the second event in the "November Groove" series! Screening of "Notes for a Film on Jazz" followed by a Swingin' Teatime for dancing.
"Notes for a Film on Jazz" - 1965, Bologna Jazz Festival, sublime and timeless jazz moments captured in Notes for a Film on Jazz (Appunti per un film sul jazz, 1965). Of extreme expressive richness (sharp camera work, direct immersion in real action, absence of narration and editing, ...) it offers original and rare material in the filmed jazz heritage. The takes reveal major figures of American jazz in the 1960s, such as Don Cherry, Gato Barbieri, Johnny Griffin, Steve Lacy, Pony Poindexter, Ted Curson and Mal Waldron. Director Gianni Amico becomes the privileged and happy witness of their reception…
