Understanding the move

Count by count

  • 1-2: the lead backs up while the follow walks forward and passes in front of them; the lead's right hand stays on the follow's back.
  • 3-4: the follow keeps walking forward through the rotation instead of just being turned.
  • 5-6: the lead's right hand leaves the back; only the left hand keeps the connection, and the arms lengthen.

Usual mistakes

  • The lead opens the frame on 1-2: there's nothing left to turn together.
  • The follow lets themselves be carried without walking: the send out has no drive.
