Understanding the move

Count by count

  • 5-6: the hand goes up just above the follow's head, elbow soft; the follow turns right next to the lead, free arm open to the side, while the lead stays on the spot.
  • 7-8: the hand comes back down to the waist as soon as the follow faces the lead again.

Usual mistakes

  • The lead raises the hand too late: the follow has already headed off in a straight line.
  • The hand grips during the turn: the follow's wrist twists.
